Contract Beds - Cheap Beds

In the UK, all beds and mattresses, exceeding those in the home, are required to adhere to the UK and EU fire regulatory standards.

Domestic use requires low fire hazard rating source 3, contract non domestic require medium
source 5, and nursing homes require high risk source 7. As a result, products must reach the minimum test requirements of BS7177: 1996.

At present, this is currently made up of the following tests:
  • BS EN597-1 (cigarette)
  • BSEN597-2 (Match)
  • CRIB 5 - BS6807

You can be rest assured that all of the products we supply conform to these standards. The following establishments need to adhere to the contract and must, by law, use a contract bed and mattresses:

  • Universities
  • Boarding Schools
  • Outdoor activity centres
  • Prisons
  • Buy-to-let properties
  • Holiday Camps
  • Hospitals
  • Care Holmes
  • Hotels
  • Bed and Breakfasts
  • Guest Homes
If those establishments fail to meet the required standards, this could lead to prosecution
in the event of a fire.
